First Angola Mining Conference Opens Next Week

The inaugural Angolan Mining Conference & Exhibition will take place in just one week (Nov. 21-22). Angolan president João Lourenço recently invited foreign industry giants to invest in the country’s economy including the mining sector. Inspired by his new policy in Angola, the theme of the conference is to “Enhance the National Mining Sector Potential through Investment and Diversification”. It is being organized by the Ministry of Mineral Resources and Petroleum in association with AME Trade Ltd. Over 50 confirmed speakers have signed on to address the conference, including government officials, industry stakeholders and key decision makers in the mining and petroleum industry, promising to make this conference an informative and educational platform for the future of Angola mining.

At the opening ceremony, the Ministry and National companies will be signing key investment agreements with large international mining companies. The country’s 2nd international Diamond auction will also be launched at the opening ceremony as well as the unveiling of the Saurimo Diamond Development Project Model. AMC 2019 expects to be the platform in which the Ministry will announce further investment agreements concerning the mining industry.

AMC 2019 will include in-depth debates around shared infrastructures to unlock mining investments, technological innovation for accelerating growth and financing modalities in the mining industry. The Angolan Mining Conference will also feature expert panels, presentations and case studies pertaining to topics such as: Investment in the Angolan Mining Sector, Angola’s Geological and Mining Potential, Mining Sector Policies, Strategies and Legal Framework, Women's Framework in the Mining Sector and Local Content Development, amongst other key topics.
