Kering, the global luxury group, has announced the appointment of a new CEO for one of its couture brands Gucci. Stefano Cantino. is replacing Jean-François Palus and will report to Francesca Bellettini, the Deputy CEO of Kering in charge of Brand Development. Cantino is a familiar face at Gucci; he has been the Deputy CEO since last May. With the CEO position, he will also get a seat on Kering’s Executive Committee.
Cantino’s predecessor, Jean-François Palus, will pass the baton on January 1st, 2025. He has been the company’s CEO since July 2023 and has helped Gucci through a challenging and transitional period, according to Francesca Bellettini. One of Palus’s tasks was setting up the foundations of the brand’s next chapter and hiring key talents, including his successor. She also trusts that Stefano Cantino “will succeed in the mission to take Gucci back to the leadership the brand deserves.”
