The Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show scheduled for March 2-6 and the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show (March 4-8) have been postponed until May 18-21, 2020 for precautionary reasons due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
The coronavirus epidemic has forced multiple business events and trade fairs to be postponed in China and increasingly in Hong Kong as well. The trade fair is one of the largest and most important of the year for the diamond and jewelry industry, with the latest version welcoming 1,990 exhibitors and 35,687 visitors from 126 countries, according to the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) which organizes the show. The HKTDC forwarded us the following announcment:
Rescheduling Announcement: The safety of exhibitors and buyers has always been a priority for the HKTDC. In line with the measures taken by the Hong Kong SAR Government against the spread of the novel coronavirus, and after consultation with representatives of the jewellery industry, the HKTDC will reschedule its HKTDC Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem & Pearl Show 2020 (originally scheduled for 2-6 March) and the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show 2020 (originally scheduled for 4-8 March) to 18-21 May 2020. The twin shows will be concurrently held at the AsiaWorld-Expo.
