On Wednesday, the Guangzhou Diamond Exchange (GZDE) and Guangdong Gems & Jade Exchange (GDGJE) hosted the sixth edition of the International Jewellery & Diamond Conference.
This year's theme was “Dual Circulation, New Development – From Global Jewellery Factory to Global Jewellery Market”. The speakers, on and offline, were authoritative experts in the field of digitization, economy, and trade. International industry representatives shared their views on further integrating into China’s extensive consumer market and achieving growth.
Plans were announced for upcoming projects, such as the National Jewelry Industry Innovation and R&D Center, an advanced manufacturing complex for the jewelry industry. The new IntLabDiamond was launched by the GZDE and will provide solutions if an international grading report is required for diamond polished in China.
Diamonds and Antwerp (DnA) Ambassador Certificates were presented by the Consul General of Belgium in Guangzhou, Mr. Luc Truyens, and Ms. Eva Verstraelen, the Trade and Investment Consul of Flanders Investment & Trade (FIT). The companies who received the certificates are Chow Tai Fook Jewellery, Lukfook Jewellery, JURE Jewelry, and MAFFEO to recognize and encourage their contribution to promoting Diamonds from Antwerp in China.
The conference talked about the new opportunities for the jewelry industry brought by the policy on Hainan Free Trade Port, the opportunities and challenges for natural diamond marketing, digital empowerment of the jewelry and diamond industry, etc. On behalf of the Antwerp World Diamond Centre, Ms. Verstraelen presented a speech on “Observations of the global diamond industry in 2021”.
