Lucapa, the Australian listed miner with operations in Angola (Lulo) and Lesotho (Mothae) is looking to divest its 70% stake in the Mothae mine after a review of its asset portfolio by the recently restructured Lucapa board of directors. The mine, with highlights described in a separate brochure, is located in the Maluti Mountain range, is known for its large, high value diamonds, and in its statement, Lucapa chairman Stuart Brown commented the company expects significant interest from potential buyers. Apart from the two mines it operates, Lucapa is running exploration projects in Australia, Angola and Botswana, with the Australian "Merlin" project in Australia now in a feasibility study stage. In a recent update, Lucapa reported lower y-o-y performances for Q1, in particular at its Mothae mine, while the Angolan Lulo project recorded a promising start of Q2.
