BASELWORLD, which was pronounced dead last year after a mass exodus of exhibitors following the mishandling of the postponement and refunding of deposits for exhibitors, is back!
The organizers have announced the show "will be very different" and is scheduled to take place at the end of the first quarter of 2022. Rather than focusing on the spectacular appearance of luxury brands in the watch, jewelry, and gemstone industry, "the new BASELWORLD will primarily be a B2B platform in the mid-range luxury segment". The new concept would combine trends in the experience marketing market with the needs of the mid- and high-end segments of the various industries.
"After the Corona Pandemic had stalled BASELWORLD over the last two years, we took a lot of time to talk to our partners and exhibitors," says BASELWORLD Managing Director Michel Loris-Melikoff. "One thing became very clear: the BASELWORLD brand must remain, but it must fundamentally change." One of the main changes? The new BASELWORLD will be much less expensive for exhibitors and will offer the option of pre-packaged stands for the watch, jewelry, and gems businesses.
BASELWORLD will be a digital platform, supplemented by live events worldwide.
