The first week of the program provides the students - mainly Master & PhD candidates, graduates, researchers and young professionals from four continents - with an introduction to the historical, geological, technical, economic, commercial and ethical perspectives of the global diamond trade.

Week two will feature a high-level conference, Innovation and Diamonds, with keynote lectures from industry leaders such as Chaim Even-Zohar, Lucara Diamond CEO William Lamb, Everledger CEO Leanne Kemp and Vice President of Commercial Development at De Beers, Howard Davies, not to mention an array of specialists from throughout the diamond pipeline (see link for complete list). In the framework of the summer school, AWDC is also organizing a Tech Expo at the Antwerp Rough Diamond Bourse. Students that complete the summer school successfully can be awarded with 3 credits according the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), if they are still pursuing their education.
