Sarine Technologies introduced the latest version of its rough planning software tool, AdvisorTM 7.0, which has the capability to fully atomize the rough planning process. This version includes several new and enhanced features designed to enable diamond manufacturers to, “further streamline the planning process and optimize the polished yield”.
The most prominent feature is the ‘Centralized Automated Planning’ (CAP), which facilitates fully automated rough planning. “The CAP tool enables the user to define advanced planning programs based on a wide range of parameters, such as shapes, proportions, cut grades, lab specifications and many more,” Sarine said describing the feature. CAP can provide hundreds, and in some cases even thousands, of planning options prior to the stone reaching the planners. This feature allows manufacturers to “sort and filter” the solutions according to demand, reduces the time necessary to reach the market and factors in market pricing.
The Dual Viewer feature enables the planner to view a simulation of the planned stone allowing the planner, “to evaluate how the stone's light performance will differ with each tweak of the cutting and polishing plan,” Sarine explained. An updated DiaExpertTM provides a graphic video viewer, which highlights internal stress in the rough diamond. “This allows the planner to make better more-informed decisions early on in the planning process, so as to avoid potential pitfalls during the laser sawing process, which would endanger the stone's integrity,” said Sarine.
David Block, CEO of Sarine, commented: "AdvisorTM 7.0 includes new standard-setting features that yet again transform the rough planning process, by enabling full automation and improved efficiency, higher levels of yield optimization, and reduced risk and costs.”
