ALROSA President Andrey Zharkov held a series of meetings with a broad range of industry stakeholders and associations during a visit to the JCK Show in Las Vegas this week on increasing diamond sales and implementing joint marketing programs. These included meetings with Signet Jewelers CEO Mark Light and Chow Tai Fook CEO Kent Wong on the possibility of joint marketing events aimed at the promotion of diamond consumption. The ALROSA delegation also participated in a discussion of the new global marketing strategy of the Diamond Producers Association (DPA) on generic marketing of diamonds.
Zharkov held a meeting with newly appointed De Beers new CEO Bruce Cleaver where they exchanged views on the current situation on the global diamond market. Meanwhile, participation in a tracking program that allows identifying every polished diamond sold all the way from mining it to the sale to the end consumer was also discussed with Chinese partners. The delegation held meetings on the optimization of the company’s sales system, and the ALROSA branch in Vladivostok and the miner's plans to expand in the Asia Pacific polished diamond market were presented at the meetings.
Meanwhile, there were also meetings to discuss bilateral cooperation with senior executives of India's Gems & Jewellery Export Promotion Council, and talks were held with the representatives of the GIA.
