HRD Antwerp Hong Kong has opened its new office in Kowloon, sharing the same premises as the Hong Kong Indian Diamond Association (HKIDA). HRD Antwerp CEO Peter Macken said that although HRD Antwerp has been operating in Hong Kong for many years, the need for quality diamond certificates and jewelry reports has never been so demanding "given the recent influx of lab-grown diamonds entering the diamond and diamond jewellery market." He added that the expansion of its service included a new melee diamond-screening service which was necessary due to the larger number of synthetic stones in the market and will significantly strengthen its presence in the region, JNA reported.
HRD Antwerp and HKIDA recently signed an agreement on an exclusive diamond-screening service using the M-Screen which Macken said was “the world’s fastest melee-screening device available today” and will offer the screening of parcels – with a minimum total weight of 10 carats – of melee-sized diamonds from 1 to 20 points and colors D-J straight from HKIDA’s premises. The service is available to all customers, including non-HKIDA members.
