Searching the Rapaport Market Comments (MC) for indicators as we approach the crucial diamond purchasing season, it appears that the best prospects are on the American market, with the De Beers-Signet “Ever Us” two-stone marketing campaign apparently generating early enthusiasm. The New York Diamond Dealers Club (DDC) Israel Week seems to have generated interest, with a strong focus on colored diamonds and large stones, but MC writes that there were, "More sellers than buyers, but event created a buzz and selective buyers got good deals from motivated suppliers seeking to reduce inventories." Elsewhere (Belgium, Hong Kong, India), trade was slow and dealers were cautious as demand, Chinese in particular, remains soft.
